Friendly reminder that Wednesday, the 19th is Juneteenth, also known as Emancipation Day!

Since we’ll be closed and some of the following events are happening this weekend, here’s an early guide to Freedom Day goings-on in Utah.

 

Logan

Utah State University in Logan is hosting multiple activities to celebrate Juneteenth, including lectures, workshops, and cultural events from June 17th to June 19th. Ogden

Ogden’s Juneteenth celebration is one of the largest and most vibrant in Utah. The event, organized by Project Success Coalition, spans several days from June 15th to June 19th. The festivities include a range of activities such as parades, live music, dance performances, educational workshops, and a variety of vendors offering food and crafts. Salt Lake City

Salt Lake City will have multiple events to celebrate Juneteenth:

• The Gateway: On June 19th, The Gateway will hold a Juneteenth Celebration and Black-Owned Business Expo. This event will feature local Black-owned businesses, live performances, and food trucks. It’s a celebration of culture, entrepreneurship, and community. More information is available here.

• Discovery Gateway Children's Museum: Juneteenth celebration and butterfly release. Hosting a special event on June 15th, the museum will offer educational activities and interactive exhibits that highlight the history and significance of Juneteenth. Orem

Orem will host its Juneteenth Freedom Day Celebration on June 19th at the University Place.
