The Eiffel Tower stands as the cultural icon of France, is one of the most recognizable and imitated landmarks on Earth and is lucky to still be standing at all. Construction on the iron lattice behemoth began in 1887 and was completed in time for it to be the main attraction at the 1889 World’s Fair. It was to be a temporary installment; removed after only twenty years. The French government decided the radio antenna and wireless telegraph transmitter Gustave Eiffel had cleverly implemented in the structure were worth saving it from destruction. Then again, during the German occupation of France during World War II, the tower was in danger when Hitler himself ordered it to be destroyed. Fortunately for everyone, all his plans didn’t come to full fruition and the tower remains today as a historical feat of STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING... Speaking of, we’re hiring a STRUCTURAL ENGINEER with heavy industrial experience, CAD expertise, and a PE license. Postuler aujourd’hui!
