Manufacturing Engineer

Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineer:   

  • Utilize knowledge of product design, assembly methods, quality control standards, materials, parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities to develop, evaluate, and enhance manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, production, marketing, purchasing, manufacturing teams and management to ensure cooperation and cohesion.
  • Develop, analyze and enhance operational standards, layouts, etc.
  • Continuously identify, recommend and implement process improvements.
  • Establish, execute and report priorities to employees and management.
  • Man-hour estimate generation, record-keeping and reporting.
  • Demonstrates initiative to learn industry and project requirements.
  • Support general production, machining and assembly areas, as needed; evaluate upgrades for machining or assembly.
  • Troubleshoot issues with equipment and on the assembly line; provide technical assistance and hands-on problem resolutions; report and correct of out-of-specification conditions.
  • Select and implement appropriate fixturing and tooling for machining and assemblies.
  • Perform capital equipment justification, as needed.
  • Devise and implement preventive and corrective actions to reduce scrap, rework and down time.
  • Stay apprised of new technological advances and industry trends to aid continuous improvement.

Qualifications of the Manufacturing Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering or related technical field.
  • 2+ years’ relevant, professional engineering experience in a manufacturing / production setting.
  • Verifiable success producing results per project schedules, cost targets and other objectives.
  • Hands-on manufacturing floor experience, including machining, clean room, continuous flow and injection molding.
  • High mechanical aptitude and innovative process design skills.
  • Outstanding verbal, written and interpersonal communication capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
