LEAD TOOLING ENGINEER

Location: Salt Lake City, UT

Reports to: Engineering Manager

Compensation: $120 – $140K + bonus potential

Your Role:

You will lead a team of Tooling Engineers to design, develop, and implement tooling solutions for composite aresopace components. You will get to work on a large cross-functional scale with engineering, manufacturing, and external customers to ensure our tooling and production processes meet stringent aerospace standards. You will share your strong knowledge and mentor others on your team.

What You’ll Do:

·      Lead, coordinate, and prioritize activity of the tooling department

·      Manage the technical lifecycle of production tooling including design, fabrication, procurement, implementation, maintenance, etc.

·      Work closely with production teams to troubleshoot and improve tooling performance

·      Ensure tooling meets industry regulations, safety requirements, and customer specifications

·      Support new product development and continuous improvement initiatives

·      Create proposals, budgets, and manage team projects to project budgets and timelines

What You’ll Bring:

·      Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline

·      5+ year’s experience as a Tooling Engineer working with large scale tooling design – composities industry experience and previous leadership experience highly desired

·      Outstanding communication and collaboration skills with an ability to build relationships both inside and outside the business, and mentor junior team members

·      Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

·      Solid working knowledge of CATIA V5
