SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Location: Salt Lake City, UT (Hybrid)

Reports to: Principal Engineer

Compensation: $150,000 – $220,000

Company Overview

We are a well-established consulting engineering firm serving the Mountain West, specializing in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and technology systems for institutional and commercial environments. With a decades-long track record and a reputation built on repeat clients, we pair deep technical expertise with a collaborative, mentorship-driven culture.

Your Role:

You’ll take a senior leadership role in growing the firm’s Salt Lake City office — leading the team through design and construction, driving business development, and shaping office strategy in close partnership with the firm’s Principals, while staying hands-on with institutional building mechanical system design.

What You’ll Do:

·     Lead business development, including client relationship management, proposal preparation, and pursuit strategy

·     Contribute to internal leadership, office growth, staffing, and strategic planning alongside firm Principals

·     Provide overall project oversight, including scope, schedule, and budget management

·     Interface directly with clients and end users to understand and document expectations

·     Complete project designs and drawings in Revit/CAD, calculations, specifications, equipment selection, site observations, and construction administration

What You’ll Bring:

·     4-year engineering degree from an accredited institution;

·     PE license or actively working toward one

·     Strong expertise in institutional building mechanical systems and applicable national codes, standards, and regulations; Revit proficiency a plus

·     Experience managing other in a consulting engineering setting

·     Excellent leadership, client management, and business development skills with strong written and verbal communication

·     A team-player mindset with the desire and skill to grow the firm

Why Join?

This is a team where engineers do meaningful, hands-on work across a wide variety of projects, with accessible leaders who mentor rather than manage from a distance. The firm offers flexible hours and hybrid work options, competitive salary and bonus, a 401k plan, employer-paid benefits, paid leave, professional memberships and registrations, and a genuine commitment to continued education and career growth.
