INDUSTRIAL DESIGNER 

Location: Salt Lake City, UT  

Reports to: Director of Engineering 

Compensation: $90,000 - $110,000

Your Role: 

As Industrial Designer, you will lead the design and development of thermoformed plastic products, turning customer concepts into manufacturable, cost effective, and high quality solutions. You’ll work closely with tooling, production, quality, and sales teams from prototype through full-scale production. 

 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Lead the design and development of new thermoformed plastic products, including prototyping, testing, and validation 
  • Collaborate with tooling, production, quality, and sales teams to bring new products to market efficiently 
  • Select materials and design for manufacturability, performance, and cost 
  • Generate engineering quotes, pricing, and production BOMs within the ERP system 
  • Create detailed part and assembly drawings using CAD software 
  • Develop and execute testing plans to ensure product integrity and compliance with industry standards 
  • Provide technical support on the production floor to resolve tooling, processing, or material issues 
  • Evaluate new technologies and equipment, including 3D printing, to improve performance and efficiency 
  • Represent the technical voice of the company in customer meetings, trade shows, and supplier discussions 

 

What You’ll Bring: 

  • 5+ years of experience in product development or process engineering in a plastics manufacturing environment 
  • Proficient in CAD software such as SolidWorks, with familiarity in mold design and injection molding processes 
  • Strong knowledge of polymer materials and performance characteristics 
  • Demonstrated experience bringing new products from concept through full-scale production 
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and project management skills, with the ability to work independently
