Compensation: $65K - $95K

Company Overview

We are a well-established mechanical contractor with a strong regional presence and a reputation built on delivering complex, large-scale infrastructure projects. We operate a fully integrated service model spanning estimating, engineering, project management, and in-house fabrication, serving a diverse base of public and industrial clients across the country.

Your Role:

The Designer will join a collaborative design services team responsible for developing detailed drawings that support both customer-facing project deliverables and internal fabrication operations. This position plays a key role in transforming engineering concepts into accurate, buildable designs, ensuring that projects move seamlessly from submittal through production. Working closely with engineers, project managers, and fabrication personnel, this individual will contribute to a wide variety of industrial and infrastructure projects while helping ensure quality, efficiency, and technical accuracy throughout the design process.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design & Drafting: Create detailed 2D drawings and supporting documentation using SolidWorks for industrial piping, structural supports, and related systems.
  • Project Documentation: Develop submittal drawings, plans, sections, and detail sheets that clearly communicate engineering intent to customers and project stakeholders.
  • Fabrication Support: Convert approved project designs into fully dimensioned fabrication drawings used directly by production teams.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, project management, and fabrication personnel to ensure designs meet project requirements and manufacturing needs.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve design conflicts, constructability concerns, and interference issues before fabrication begins.
  • Quality & Accuracy: Independently verify drawings and maintain compliance with company standards, customer specifications, and industry requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Support efforts to improve drafting processes, workflows, and design consistency across projects

What You’ll Bring:

  • SolidWorks Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency using SolidWorks in a professional drafting or design environment.
  • Industry Experience: 5+ years of drafting, design, or detailing experience within structural steel, piping, fabrication, industrial construction, or related industries preferred.
  • Technical Understanding: Ability to read, interpret, and develop engineering and fabrication drawings.
  • Construction Mindset: Comfortable working in a hands-on environment where designs move directly into fabrication and field execution.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy, consistency, and delivering high-quality work products.
  • Collaboration: Effective communicator who works well with engineers, project teams, and shop personnel.
  • Professional Credentials: CSWP certification preferred; CSWA accepted for less experienced candidates. Additional SolidWorks certifications are a plus
