SOLUTIONS ENGINEER

Location: Salt Lake City, UT

Reports to: Manager, Client Services

Compensation: $80 - $120K

Company Overview

We are an established manufacturer of sustainable architectural materials and hardware solutions for the architecture and design community. We partner with architects, designers, and contractors to turn ambitious interior concepts into finished spaces.

Your Role:

As a Solutions Engineer you will be the technical bridge between sales, project management, and operations on a special projects team — designing and pricing custom solutions before the order, then helping get them b

uilt, shipped, and installed after it.

What You’ll Do:

•   Support sales consultants on project calls with engineering expertise and design direction.

•   Own the custom material process: evaluate requests, test layups, create samples, price, and quality-check panels.

•   Design custom hardware, attachment, and structural components across extrusion, steel, sheet metal, machined/die-cast metals, and molded plastics; own their integrity, function, and margin.

•   Partner with Project Management and Purchasing to quote, source, and see designs through to installation.

•   Create manufacturing drawings, installation templates, and instructions; collaborate with contractors and installers.

•   Manage third-party structural engineering consultants for stamped calculations and drawings on complex projects.

•   Answer technical questions and troubleshoot installations; turn recurring custom work into standard solutions.

What You’ll Bring:

•   Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials Science, or Structural Engineering.

•   3–5 years designing and developing steel and aluminum components or systems.

•   Knowledge of metal fabrication (machining, steel fabrication, extrusion) and plastic/glass panel materials.

•   Proficiency in SolidWorks (preferred), Rhino, or CAD — work samples required.

•   A customer-focused mindset, strong communication skills, and a strong design sensibility.

•   Design, architecture, or industrial design background preferred; construction management or estimating a plus.

Why Join?

This role suits a creative engineer who enjoys variety and people as much as problem-solving. You’ll join a relaxed, collaborative on-site team with a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and strong on-site amenities.
