Senior Pipe Support Engineer / Professional Engineer (PE)

Location: Ogden, UT; Burlington, VT; or Remote

Reports to: VP, Engineering & Project Management

Compensation: $165K – $195K

Company Overview

We are a specialized mechanical contractor focused on the design, engineering, fabrication, and integrated delivery of process piping solutions. We serve clients across the water, power, energy, and industrial markets, offering a full-service model that spans estimating, engineering, project management, and shop fabrication. We are recognized as an innovative partner for complex infrastructure projects, with a track record of delivering large-scale outcomes for public and industrial clients across the country.

Your Role:

Lead the engineering, design, and certification of pipe support systems for complex industrial piping projects. You’ll own engineered support systems, confidently apply your PE seal, and partner with customers to deliver safe, code-compliant designs that are efficient to fabricate and install.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design complex pipe support systems: steel supports, pipe racks, anchors, guides, restraints, hangers, base plates, and anchorage.
  • Perform and review structural calculations for piping, seismic, wind, and operating loads; design bolted and welded connections.
  • Translate pipe stress results into practical designs; review layouts, isometrics, drawings, and 3D models.
  • Sign and seal calculations and drawings within your competency and licensing jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate with piping, VDC/BIM, fabrication, PM, and field teams on RFIs, field changes, and customer reviews.
  • Lead a team of three pipe support engineers and drive standardized, constructable designs.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Active PE license and demonstrated experience signing and sealing calculations and drawings.
  • 10+ years of pipe support and/or structural engineering experience, including 5 years in management.
  • Strong structural steel, connection, and anchorage design skills applying AISC, ASCE 7, IBC, and AWS D1.1.
  • Working knowledge of how pipe stress and movement interface with anchors, guides, and supports.
  • Preferred: water/wastewater, semiconductor, data center, or advanced manufacturing projects; stainless/duplex piping; seismic or delegated design; RISA-3D, STAAD.Pro, Hilti PROFIS, CAESAR II, or AutoPIPE.
