Spectrum is SBA WOSB Certified!
It’s official! Just in time for Women’s History Month, SRS was recertified as a Woman Owned Small Business by WBENC and WBEC-West, authorized, third-party, SBA WOSB certifiers.
What the heck do all those acronyms mean?
Spectrum Recruiting Solutions earned federal distinction as a Woman Owned Small Business from the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) and Women’s Business Enterprise Council (WBEC) – West authorized, third-party, United States Small Business Administration certifiers.
But what does such a distinction actually mean?
Paraphrased from the press release:
“Spectrum Recruiting Solutions, a nationally recognized recruiting, direct-hire, Recruitment Process Ownership (RPO), and outplacement service company specializing in talent acquisition and employee retention within the engineering and manufacturing industries, announced today that they have been approved as a WOSB by the Women's Business Enterprise Council - West (WBEC-West), a regional partner organization of the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).
U.S. Small Business Association (SBA) requirements to meet standard of certification as a WOSB involves a meticulous process, including an in-depth review of the business, corporate documentation, clients, the business owner and an on-site inspection. The certification process is designed to confirm the business is at least 51% owned, operated and controlled by a woman or women, and meets the guidelines of the SBA for WOSB Certification.
"We are very excited to receive this recognition and provide this certification as a service to our clients who are committed to diversity and contracting officers with the government," said Tina Hazlett, CEO and Founder of Spectrum Recruiting Solutions. "We welcome the increased visibility and additional opportunities this brings, specifically new work with companies and contractors with Supplier Diversity Programs and meeting federal contract needs in the State of Utah and across the country."
WBEC-West is a regional partner of WBENC, a coalition of corporations, WBEs and regionally focused women's business organizations. As an affiliate organization, WBEC-West implements the WOSB certification standards of the SBA throughout Arizona, Colorado, Southern California, Utah, Wyoming, Nevada, Hawaii and Guam.
WBENC certification is nationally recognized and accepted by more than 10,000 major corporations. The organization also supports corporations in their efforts to include WBENC Certified WBEs in their supplier diversity programs. The Women's Business Enterprise National Council is the nation's largest third-party certifier of businesses owned and operated by women in the United States. WBENC is a resource for the more than 700 US companies and government agencies that rely on WBENC's certification as an integral part of their supplier diversity programs.”
