Responsibilities of the Conversion Technician:

  • Fabricates and assembles plastic sheeting products by performing the following duties.
  • Reads, understands and maintains knowledge of applicable work instructions. Sets up work area with tools and patterns required to fabricate products.
  • Reads and interprets written instructions such as, drawings or diagrams in order to position, align, cut, and fit components.
  • Constructs templates and fixtures as required to fabricate complete assemblies.
  • Uses measuring equipment to accurately fabricate individual components and assemble products.
  • Verifies conformance of individual or assembled work piece(s) to dimensional specifications.
  • Set up and operates machine tools associated with fabricating shops.
  • Uses manual and electric scissors and safety knives for cutting cloth and film materials.
  • Safely climbs up to and down from tables and woks on hands and knees for extended period of time to fabricate components or assemblies.
  • Lifts rolls of material weighing up to 50lbs. using assistance from other employees and mechanical lifting devices.
  • Read production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisitions to determine items to be pulled, fabricated, or distributed and completes productions documents.
  • Moves products and materials from receiving to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Maintains accurate inventory control of warehouse and fabrication items, including electronic transactions in company software and placing or moving products in bin locations.
  • Marks materials and products with identification per customer and internal requirements
  • Weights or counts items for distribution, and inventory control
  • Cleans around work area (warehouse/office)
  • May perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications of the Conversion Technician:

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one (1) to three (3) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.  Ability to understand and act upon verbal instructions using English language.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to accurately interpret measuring implements such as rulers and tape measures.

Reasoning Ability:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • 7+ years’ relevant, professional experience in engineering and product development, including 3+ years in a leadership role (consumer electronics background, highly preferable).
  • Technical expertise in electrical systems design for power conversion systems and consumer electronics.
  • History of success in cross-functional engineering environments, including hardware, firmware, and mechanical design.
  • Experience with consumer home electrical systems, electrical panels, power electronics, lithium batteries, high power conversion circuitry, all preferable.
  • Experience working with international development and manufacturing partners, very valuable.
  • Deep understanding of the fundamentals of photovoltaics, energy storage systems, power conversion and battery charging.
  • Comprehension of electrical schematics and basic layouts of digital and analog circuitry.

Qualifications of the Engineering Supervisor:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related technical field, required.
  • 10+ years’ relevant, professional experience in engineering and product development, including 3+ years in a leadership role (consumer electronics background, highly preferable).
  • Proficiency in Altium design software and tools.
  • Technical expertise with board-level electronics design, including schematic capture and PCB layout, analysis, verification, and troubleshooting.
  • In-depth experience with low and high-power conversion electronics design; analog and digital circuit design; microprocessors (MCUs, SoCs, etc.); wireless communication modules (WiFi, Bluetooth), as they relate to consumer electronics.
  • Experience with version control and corresponding methodologies, e.g., Git, required.
  • Experience with design and development of low-level firmware which interacts directly with hardware, preferred.
  • Working knowledge of wired and wireless communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, WiFi, Bluetooth, BLE, etc., as well as their hardware implementation.
  • Familiarity with the following will be valuable: IDEs, programmers, general debugging and lab tools, multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, AC and DC loads, logic analyzers, trace, profilers, common development interfaces such as JTAG.

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or closely related field, preferred.

  • Collaborate closely with product and project management as well as staff engineers to define product scope and requirements; work to deliver such products within scope, budget and quality requirements.
  • Develop system drawings, technical requirements and interface documentation to facilitate interaction of subsystems and technologies within power stations.
  • Work with peer engineers and management to develop and define specifications for future products; provide recommendations on emerging technologies, best practices and standards adherence.
  • Interface with external engineering and manufacturing partners to design and bring to market successful products and systems.
  • Participate in design reviews within various disciplines to ensure the consistent, timely delivery of high-quality products and systems.
  • Produce design documentation to facilitate interaction with the quality assurance team and manufacturing partners as well as other developers and product documentation authors.

Qualifications of the Lead Product Systems Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related technical field, required.
  • 7+ years’ relevant, professional experience in engineering and product development, including 3+ years in a leadership role (consumer electronics background, highly preferable).
  • Technical expertise in home electrical systems as well as power circuitry in consumer electronics.
  • History of success in cross-functional engineering environments, including hardware, firmware, and mechanical design.
  • Experience with consumer home electrical systems, solar panels, power electronics, lithium batteries, high power conversion circuitry, all preferable.
  • Experience working with international development and manufacturing partners, very valuable.
  • Deep understanding of the fundamentals of photovoltaics, energy storage systems, power conversion and battery charging.
  • Comprehension of electrical schematics and basic layouts of digital and analog circuitry.
  • Familiarity with communication standards and protocols, including UART, CAN, RS485, etc.
  • Experience with firmware development on microcontrollers and SoCs.

  • Fabricates and assembles plastic sheeting products by performing the following duties.

  • Lifts rolls of material weighing up to 50lbs. using assistance from other employees and mechanical lifting devices.
  • Read production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisitions to determine items to be pulled, fabricated, or distributed and completes productions documents.
  • Moves products and materials from receiving to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Maintains accurate inventory control of warehouse and fabrication items, including electronic transactions in company software and placing or moving products in bin locations.
  • Marks materials and products with identification per customer and internal requirements
  • Weights or counts items for distribution, and inventory control
  • Cleans around work area (warehouse/office)
